closely knit

I've started to learn to knit, and I am shockingly bad at it. I figured I had to do something befitting my new invalid status- I've been sickly for weeks now, and haven't been getting out much. Missing work is simply not an option, and so I've basically been sleeping when not there. We have had to drop out of our Latin dance class, (which is a bummer), and have been decidedly non-social. We did make a brief appearance at a Halloween party this weekend, so I hope things are looking up.

So, the house is filling up with funny shaped and poorly knitted... dish towels. I was this close to a real scarf, but my poor yarn choice and the unreasonable width makes it look more like a pelt. Tim insists he will wear it anyway. It really is too ugly for public display, and my nurse Taresa tells me that if he is brave enough to wear it outside that I should be forced to marry the man. Luckily it is currently unseasonably warm here in western PA, so this potential wrench in my "never get married again" plan is on hold for now. Let's hope the weather holds. I'm not healthy enough just yet to deal with the consequences of the boy wearing the awful thing in the outside world.

You'll get the hang of it...my big thing was getting the tension right and learning how not to drop or randomly add stitches. You're a doctor, yo! You can do anything!

Inspiration I read once that the ancient Egyptians had fifty words for sand & the Eskimos had a hundred words for snow. I wish I had a thousand words for love, but all that comes to mind is the way you move against me while you sleep & there are no words for that.
