a postcard from hell
April 12, 2004 / 06:15 PM

I still have no vision in my right eye, and am still required to keep my head down all the time. The worst part of all of it is sleeping in the same position every night, and my left shoulder and my neck are killing me. I actually have drugs I can take, but I am disoriented enough from my eye- when I add narcotics I fall over a lot, so I have been sticking to Tylenol. And I am still bored to tears being stuck at home. I think my brain is turning to mush.

Tim's father and his Spanish wife (remember our love of Spain?) have been here since Thursday. Nothing like entertaining your future in-laws while recovering from surgery and stressing out about your upcoming wedding. Good times here in the 'Burgh. Wish you were here.

Sleeping on one position is the Poo Bomb.

I went through the same last month when I had the big boulder pulled out from my gum line. I am still in pain from being unable to shift positions.

But hey, at least you didn't bleed all over you pillow like I did, so you've got THAT going for you...*shrugs*

Hope you are better soon...*hugs*

I've been worrying about you. Are they saying the vision will return? Like some sort of wedding miracle thing? And in consideration of the wedding pictures, the mix of anxiety and disorientation cannot be good for one's complexion.

Inspiration I read once that the ancient Egyptians had fifty words for sand & the Eskimos had a hundred words for snow. I wish I had a thousand words for love, but all that comes to mind is the way you move against me while you sleep & there are no words for that.
