inquiring minds want to know

My day off was lovely, even though I felt so guilty when I left the house this morning I started to cry when I was walking out the door. (See Neurotic, hard work, etc. below.) I spent a few HOURS at the yarn store, had lunch with a friend, and came home with my nails in a considerably more attractive state. I had my fingernails painted in the shade "Suzi Sells Sushi by the Seashore" for the name alone.

Now, am I deluded that "Suzi" is a more bimbo-esque name than "Suzie"? And, where do the women who wear lipstick and have hoity-toity spa appointments on a Thursday morning come from, what do they do for a living, and how do I get their job?

You have to sell your soul for those jobs. Not worth it. But it sounds like you have a lovely day. Hours in a yarn store is lovely no matter what else happened.

When I was a junior in high school, I spelled my name "Lauri" all year long.

"Dr. Suzie" probably makes piles more money than Suzi, the sushi seller....

heh. when i was in high school i got tired of writing out my name and just abbreviated it.
Ga. like GA the state :)
and when i was in first grade i found out that my middle name was the same as the Queen's so i stood in front of some assembly thing at school and announced my name was elizabeth. in front of all my friends and relatives. who laughed hysterically at me.
p.s. you're NOT deluded :)
and i'd like one of those jobs, too. because it would probably mean i wouldn't have to work with tools &equipment that makes a manicure moot...

Inspiration I read once that the ancient Egyptians had fifty words for sand & the Eskimos had a hundred words for snow. I wish I had a thousand words for love, but all that comes to mind is the way you move against me while you sleep & there are no words for that.
