vacay day one
April 8, 2006 / 01:00 PM

This, my friends, was the fifth weekend in a row that I spent at least one day in the hospital. That’s a long run. As of right now though, I am on my first real vacation since returning to work. My last few days have been a blur of sleepless nights and obsessive lists but I am fairly confident that no one has a pending test or an unanswered question or a form that is uncompleted. I am not going to call or visit the office in the next week. No really. I mean it.

Because I am unreasonably blessed by the kindness of my friends and associates, one of the nurses from my office is coming over (at her adamant insistence) this afternoon to hang out with Josie. Tim and I are going out for oysters and cocktails. Let the vacation begin!

Wooo! I'm glad you're finally getting a VACATION!! You of all people, totally need and deserve it. And you'd better not step foot in that office.

Inspiration I read once that the ancient Egyptians had fifty words for sand & the Eskimos had a hundred words for snow. I wish I had a thousand words for love, but all that comes to mind is the way you move against me while you sleep & there are no words for that.
